Wright County Jail Roster Overview
The Wright County Jail page links the official public reports used for inmate lookup. The Jail Census is the complete current custody PDF. The Jail Media Report lists recently booked adults. Weekly Booking Data gives fuller public booking fields that people often request from the jail. These reports are published daily Monday through Friday except holidays, so a new weekend arrest or holiday booking may not be visible online right away.
The roster is local. It covers people physically held at Wright County Jail for pretrial custody, jail sentences up to one year, work release, court holds, and some boarders or holds for other agencies. It does not replace the MNDOC locator for a person sentenced to state prison, the BOP locator for a federal inmate, ICE ODLS for immigration detention, or MCRO for formal court charges after arrest.
For a visual check of the county source, the official Wright County Jail page shows the roster and report links together with visiting, PREA, pay-for-stay, and MobilePatrol information.
That page is the county-controlled starting point before moving to records requests, state custody tools, or court records.
Use the Wright County Roster
Because Wright County publishes PDFs, the search process is closer to checking official reports than typing into a roster form. Start with a name, possible booking date, and any known arresting agency. A booking number helps, but most readers begin with a last-name search inside the PDF viewer.
- Open the Wright County Jail page and choose Jail Census for a person believed to be in custody now.
- Use browser or PDF find to search the last name. Long names can wrap, so try part of the name if needed.
- Open the Jail Media Report for a recent arrest. It lists adults recently booked into the jail.
- Open Weekly Booking Data for DOB, address, booking date, arrest date, original charges, and charge level when public.
- Use the Court Calendar or MCRO when the question is about hearings, case numbers, or charges filed by the prosecutor.
- Call jail administration at 763-684-2381 or the 24-hour non-emergency line at 763-682-1162 when timing or custody status matters.
Wright County Roster Fields
The Wright County Jail Census and booking reports do not have required user-entered search fields. Instead, the public fields are columns in the PDF. The most useful practice is to search the PDF text, then read the row from left to right and check the held-for and charges fields before drawing conclusions.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photo | PDF column | N/A | Appears on Jail Census and Jail Media Report layouts. |
| Name | PDF text column | N/A | Census uses last name, first name; Weekly Booking Data uses full name. |
| Inmate # | PDF text column | N/A | Observed numbers include year-based formats such as 202601508. |
| Age / Sex | PDF text column | N/A | Basic demographic fields in the public report. |
| Release Date | PDF text column | N/A | Blank when no release date is shown. |
| Held for | PDF text column | N/A | Shows agency or authority, such as Wright County Sheriff's Office, a city police department, MNDOC, another county, or federal hold context. |
| Charges | PDF text column | N/A | Lists statute number, charge wording, level abbreviation, and arrest wording. |
What Wright County Records Show
The inspected county source did not expose a clickable public inmate profile. The row itself is the online inmate record. That row can be enough to confirm custody and see the booking-side charges, but it is not the full criminal case record and it does not show all release conditions. Check MCRO and the jail phone line for bond or hearing questions.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking photo | The roster has a photo column, though text extraction did not show the image content. |
| Inmate number | A jail identifier used to distinguish people with similar names. |
| Name, age, sex | Basic identity and demographic information in the public row. |
| Held-for agency | The agency responsible for the custody or hold. |
| Charges | Booking-side statute and charge descriptions, not proof of conviction. |
| Missing fields | Bond, housing unit, medical data, risk classification, and detailed court status are not shown in the inspected Census rows. |
County, State, Federal Custody
Wright County inmate records should be sorted by custody type. The county jail reports answer local custody questions. The MNDOC public viewer answers state-prison and post-prison supervision questions. The BOP inmate locator covers federal inmates, and ICE ODLS covers immigration detention. Minnesota VINE is useful for notifications about custody or criminal-case changes.
| Custody Question | Where to Look |
|---|---|
| Current Wright County jail inmate | Jail Census PDF from the county jail page |
| Recent Wright County booking | Jail Media Report and Weekly Booking Data |
| Sentenced state prisoner | Minnesota Department of Corrections public viewer |
| Federal inmate | Federal Bureau of Prisons locator |
| Immigration detainee | ICE Online Detainee Locator System |
Note: A local PDF row showing a federal or DOC hold means the person is physically in the county report, but another agency may control release.
Wright County Jail Facility
The facility page for the Law Enforcement Center confirms the jail location and map tools. The official Jail and Law Enforcement Center listing is the address source to use before visiting, calling, or sending records correspondence.
The county facility listing supports the same Buffalo campus address used in the jail and sheriff contact blocks.

Booking Process in Wright County
A typical Wright County jail record begins with arrest and transport to the jail or a court booking function. Intake can include identity confirmation, property inventory, booking photo, fingerprints when required, medical or mental-health screening, entry of arrest charges, and classification into direct- or indirect-supervision housing. The jail annual report and DOC inspection confirm intake, medical, Master Control, and court/satellite booking functions as part of the jail operation.
First appearance and court processing can change the record. The jail row may list arrest charges or original booking charges, while the prosecutor's later filing can amend, reduce, dismiss, or add formal counts in court. For that reason, custody checks and court records after a jail arrest should be read together when the question is about case status.
Wright County Jail Visits
Wright County Jail uses on-site monitor visits and remote video visits. On-site visits are free, last 20 minutes, allow two adults per visit, and require current government-issued photo ID. Wright County Records Requests
When the jail reports do not answer the question, use the Sheriff's Office records request process. The county records page directs requesters to complete the Information Disclosure Request Form and send it to the Sheriff's Records Department email listed there, or call with questions. The form cites Minnesota Statutes section 13.82 and asks for the requester's contact information, case number if known, and the information requested.
The official Sheriff's Office record request page shows the routing for jail, incident, and law-enforcement data requests.
Fees can apply. The sheriff fee schedule lists regular report copies at 25 cents per page, many data requests at actual cost, audio/video/digital photos/shared links at $25, photo fees, transcript charges, and a jail video fee when release does not endanger jail security.
Commissary and Inmate Funds
The jail page links InmateCanteen.com for remote visits and iCare.com for special meals. The 2024 annual report says Wright County contracts canteen services with Turnkey Corrections, uses canteen revenue for inmate programming, and releases account balances on a Visa debit card. Canteen privileges depend on behavior and debts from booking fees and medical services.
| Item | Amount | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Pay for Stay | $20/day | 2024 annual report; convicted inmates with at least one jail day |
| Booking fee | $25 | 2024 annual report; charged to booked inmates except not-in-custody Rule 5 book/print cases |
